Step onto the stage at the iconic Hotel Cafe in Hollywood for a group performance with your peers, open to the public. Supporting Act participants will perform together with a live band, alongside featured artists presenting full three-song sets.

Your Weekend at
TAKE THE STAGE
Day One
Coaching begins. Work one-on-one and in groups with Drew, gaining direct feedback while preparing with the live band.
Day Two
Polish your performance, strengthen confidence, and learn from both personal coaching and your peers’ sessions.
Live Concert
Share the stage with fellow songwriters in a group performance backed by a live band, and experience the thrill of performing for a real audience at one of Los Angeles’ most iconic venues.

Drew Lawrence
Proven Songwriter, Active Performer, Committed Mentor
When you learn at Take the Stage, you’re guided by someone who’s doing it at the highest level. Drew Lawrence—multi-platinum songwriter behind Christina Perri’s, "Jar of Hearts" and a graduate of Berklee College of Music—is also fronting his own band, seeTrees. Influenced by Tom Petty, The War on Drugs, and Wilco, their debut album Greater than the Past blends indie, folk, and arena rock into a sound that feels both timeless and fresh.
In addition to performing, Drew works every day with aspiring songwriters, playwrights, speakers, famous actors and musicians—developing artists from their very first song to professional releases. Many of his clients have gone on to record and release original albums within a year.
His dual perspective as an active performer and a hands-on mentor gives Take the Stage participants a rare advantage: guidance rooted in both creative artistry and years of proven artist development success.
