I'm Drew Lawrence, an artist, producer, speaker, and multi-platinum selling songwriter signed to Warner Chappell Music. You might know me best for my work co-writing with Christina Perri, on her international hit "Jar of Hearts." I've had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with artists like Julia Michaels, Madison Beer, Lea Michele, The Backstreet Boys, Shane Filan (Westlife), Lindsey Stirling, and many more.
After nearly a decade of writing and developing top talent, I launched my solo project, "Deeptrees," in 2025, and have been touring across Southern California. Over the last 7 years, another project of mine, "The Dales," has played in 50+ cities, been featured on NPR’s World Cafe, and charted on the Billboard Americana charts.
Throughout my career, I've always loved discovering and developing artists. I firmly believe that everyone has a unique voice and the ability to turn their life stories into songs. Many of my artist development clients come to me with little to no experience, and within a year, they find themselves releasing albums of original songs.
I'm passionate about helping others unlock their creative potential and wanted a way to make this process more accessible, that's when the Songwriters Forum Community was born!

An amazing day yesterday with Drew Lawrence. We finally finished all the songs for my kids' album. Who would have thought that this project would ever have come about. What initially started as a poem for a kids' assembly to distribute dictionaries with Rotary has become a full-blown album of 12 songs for kids to learn from. The next part of the project is getting them live online so that people can hear them and kids can learn. Super energized by this!

JEFF'S STORY: DISCOVERING CREATIVITY THROUGH MUSIC
Really excellent. I am not a musician at all, but wanted to tap into a bit more of my creative side and learn a bit more about music. Drew’s interactive style is great. Truly I enjoyed every class. I learned sooo much, especially in terms of chords and progressions. I also really enjoyed breaking down some popular songs we all know. I feel enriched.
There is no pressure to perform, but it is available to you should you want to. He did take us through some voice drills for example. He encouraged us all to write and perform a song of our creation. Although I did not seem to have time for that part, I am interested in doing that in the future. If you have any interest in this, what a great way to start.
NICK'S STORY: FROM ASPIRING MUSICIAN TO RECORDING ARTIST!
Nick came to me at 39 years old. He had just gone through a terrible divorce and an overall challenging time in his life.
He had a dream of becoming a country artist; however, he had never written a song and had very little singing experience. In our first session, we wrote a song called “The Stix.” It would be the first of nearly 50 songs we would write together over the next four years!
During this time, Nick dedicated himself to becoming a better singer. He asked me what it would take to be able to sing at a professional level as a live performer. I answered him honestly: I thought it was possible, but he was going to have to work at it every day and be patient.
Nick poured himself into his music, practiced constantly, and worked weekly with me. We tapped into Nick’s legacy, writing songs for different members of his family, including a beautiful tribute to his daughter who serves in the army. We wrote a profound piece for one of his dear friends who is suffering from a terminal disease. And on a lighter side, we wrote a few divorce anthems! These songs captured the fun Nick was having after healing from the pain and realizing the exciting potential of life ahead of him as a single guy.
Today, Nick has released an album on Spotify, tours across the US, Canada, and Mexico, and has even built a music venue on his property where he performs alongside national acts.
The most profound part of Nick’s journey is the transformation he’s experienced. He’s found a tremendous sense of purpose and joy in expressing himself as an artist. Five years after the darkest time in his life, he is now having the time of his life!
After five years of hard work, Nick is now at a top professional level and ready to be shopped to record labels.
