JEFF'S STORY: DISCOVERING CREATIVITY THROUGH MUSIC
Really excellent. I am not a musician at all, but wanted to tap into a bit more of my creative side and learn a bit more about music. Drew’s interactive style is great. Truly I enjoyed every class. I learned sooo much, especially in terms of chords and progressions. I also really enjoyed breaking down some popular songs we all know. I feel enriched.
There is no pressure to perform, but it is available to you should you want to. He did take us through some voice drills for example. He encouraged us all to write and perform a song of our creation. Although I did not seem to have time for that part, I am interested in doing that in the future. If you have any interest in this, what a great way to start.

Join NowNick's Story: Turning Life into a Musical Legacy
Nick came to me at 39, fresh out of a difficult divorce and at a turning point in his life. He had a dream of becoming a country artist—but had never written a song and had very little singing experience.
In our first session, we wrote his first song. Over the next four years, Nick committed himself to the craft—writing nearly 50 songs, developing his voice, and turning his life experiences into music, including deeply personal songs for family and friends.
Today, Nick has released an album on Spotify, tours across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, and even built his own music venue where he performs alongside national acts. Most importantly, he found purpose, joy, and a renewed sense of identity through songwriting.
This same spirit of guidance, feedback, and legacy-building is exactly why the Songwriters Forum Community exists. To support—even if you’re not working one-on-one.
Nice to Meet You!
I’m Drew Lawrence. I’m a songwriter, artist, and producer, and over the years I’ve been fortunate to work with artists like Christina Perri, Julia Michaels, Madison Beer, and The Backstreet Boys. But what’s always mattered most to me is helping people find their voice.
I’ve spent a big part of my career working with writers at every level—many who never thought of themselves as songwriters—and watching their life stories turn into real songs. I believe music is one of the most powerful ways to capture who we are and what we’ve lived. Songs become a kind of legacy—something we leave behind for our families, our communities, and ourselves.
I created the Songwriters Forum Community to give people a supportive place to do that work together. I’m really glad you’re here. Let’s make some music that lasts.
